$4.5 million for MS research in 2010 by Congress

In December 2009, the President signed an appropriations bill that allotted $4.5 million for multiple sclerosis research within the FY 2010 Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). CDMRP is a Department of Defense (DoD) program funded annually via the Defense Appropriations Act. This latest appropriation is a continuation of the MS program that was first instituted in FY 2009.
